Joyce’s primary responsibility will be managing the legal affairs of Aveta and its subsidiaries. In this role, he will advise Aveta’s leadership on the various legal and compliance elements impacting the company’s operations. Joyce will report to Aveta principal stockholder and board member, Daniel Straus, as well as Aveta president and CEO, Dr. Richard Shinto.

“There are a lot of changes on the horizon in the healthcare industry, and it is imperative we understand and address the legal and compliance matters that could impact Aveta,” said Richard Shinto, M.D., president and CEO of Aveta. “Chris has many years of experience as an attorney and a healthcare executive, and I am confident he will provide us with excellent legal guidance in all of our actions as a company.”

Joyce has more than 20 years of experience in legal affairs, compliance and healthcare administration. Most recently he was executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions and general counsel for Alliance Health Services, a publically traded diagnostic imaging and oncology service provider located in Newport Beach, CA where he was chief legal officer and oversaw the strategy, execution and integration of all mergers and acquisitions activity. Early in his career, Joyce practiced law with a New York-based firm where he specialized in public equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments and bankruptcy-related matters.

“Today’s competitive environment puts a premium on legal and compliance strategies that keep pace with the changing landscape of healthcare,” said Joyce. “I look forward to advising Aveta’s leadership on significant legal matters and am excited for the opportunity to represent this organization.”
